The Rapes of Wrath

Matthew 18:10-“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

The desecration of the sacred temple that is the human body by another human being, speaks a pronounced edict regarding the demonic overtaking of what we once defined as humanity. We can research the annals of psychological assessments and evaluations, yet we still struggle with the rationale of why rape, in the both conscious and subconscious, would ever be considered an accepted, moral method to be inflicted upon another person for any Godly reason whatsoever. I stand bewildered and fearful for the children of our future generations to come, as the arrest of NYC public school teacher Anthony Criscuolo for allegedly raping a ten year old student and the deferred sentence granted to the Montana school teacher Stacey Dean Rambold by a district judge (served only 30 days in jail) for the rape of a fourteen year old (fourteen year old committed suicide as a result of that rape); speaks volumes about the monsters that exist in the world and the flawed legal system that does not bring them to justice. This latest precedent sends not only the wrong message to potential or actual victims, but it also acts as an invitation to the initiators of these brutal acts to continue to commit these heinous crimes because the punishment levied is more favorable and less of a deterrent. Every two minutes a sexual assault happens in this country, with 54% of the incidents not being reported to authorities. Statistics show that 97% of those who commit rape, never spend one day in jail. Staggering is the fact that 44% of the victims are under the age of eighteen, while 80% are under the age of thirty. They estimate that 2/3 of the rapes are committed by someone the person knows, with 38% of them being committed by a friend or an acquaintance. Rape is far from a domestic issue, as there are reports from Canada regarding a seventeen year old young woman who committed suicide after being gang raped, as well as, the seventeen year old young lady from India, who committed suicide after being gang raped also. Of course the demonic act committed by the forty year old man who had sex with an eight year old as part of an arranged marriage agreement in Kuwait, that resulted in death, places a heavy heart on the world and makes us cry out why? How do we prevent “these” types of acts from occurring? An awareness of your surroundings and educating oneself on the signs or potential signs is one answer as to where we can start. Also holding people like District Court Judge G. Todd Baugh accountable for unwarranted leniency, such in the case of Stacey Dean Rambold, is another way as well. When we cannot protect our children, we begin to forfeit our future. The Rapes of Wrath are upon us, it’s time for the humanitarian in all of us, to combat its reign of terror. #save the babies
